To visit Todi, a tourist map of the city

Having a tourist map of Todi is certainly crucial to visiting the city without leaving out anything essential.

Todi covers an overall area of approximately 220 square kilometres, and is therefore quite extensive, including 37 hamlets, each one of which features nature, scenery, history or architecture-related sights.

Nevertheless the main tourist attractions are found in the historical centre which, regardless of its great monumental wealth, is quite contained and is easily explored on foot.

In fact Todi is a hill-top town, at an altitude of 400 metres, yet it is easy to access and visit: indeed there are some up and downhill streets, but nothing some comfortable clothing and shoes can’t fix.

The route you follow should be chosen based on the amount of time you have and your starting point.

Some interesting alternatives suggested by the website www.visitodi.eu:

Scenic route

“Jacopone in the city” route, dedicated to the famous poet from Todi

“Jacopone on the run” route, inspired to the life of the poet

In general, if you are driving we recommend leaving your car at the large Porta Orvietana car park which offers quick access to the town centre with a lift/escalator. You will arrive at the Oberdan Gardens,  and from there visit the San Fortunato Church, Parco della Rocca (the Fortress Park), Piazza del Popolo and Piazza Garibaldi.

For a more detailed description of the main sights in town, we suggest reading this article Discover Todi in a day.

And anyone who, after this tour, is still in the mood for walking, going back towards the Oberdan gardens, you can continue on for 700 more metres to the Santa Maria della Consolazione Church. As another option, you can drive to this famous church and park in the spots available in the vicinity, which are free of charge.

Alternatively, at Porta Orvietana, there are other parking lots in Todi. There are the Mercato Vecchio, Porta Romana and Piazza Garibaldi parking lots, this last one being right in the centre of town next to Piazza del Popolo, but with a limited number of spots.

All helpful information for visiting Todi is available at the Tourism Office, located under the Town Hall porticoes, in Piazza del Popolo.

Here you can get informative materials and contact information for anyone wishing to book a guided tour in addition to, obviously, tourist maps of Todi.
